Hi -
My name is Scott Raymond, and for those of you who don't know me, I'm a
New Age/Ambient/Electronic music DJ with WVKR-FM. WVKR is a 3700 watt non -
commercial station broadcasting from Vassar College to the greater Hudson
Valley region. My show, "Secret Music", has been on for over 23 years and
has a large and devoted audience. The show airs every Sunday from 9AM to
12 noon EST. For more information or to listen in online, check out our
website at www.wvkr.org. I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting
music to play on my show. If you have something you think I'd be
interested in, feel free to send it to the address below or email me for
more info. If you're a local musician or just passing through the
beautiful Hudson Valley region and you'd like to stop by for a live
interview and/or performace, drop me a line and we'll work something out.
Also, if you'd like to send me downloads of your releases in lieu of
actual CD's, that's fine with me, too. Just send me an email and let me
know. Thanks.
I have a website/blog where I post playlists, etc. Be sure to check it
out for more information. I could also use local concert information as well.
If you're a local musician, or just playing locally, send me concert info and
I'll put it up on the blog for all to see. I've even got a picture of my new
neighbors, a family of red foxes that moved in under the shed. Here's the

WInter's here, much too quickly for my tastes. If only I could make like
a bear and hibernate until spring. Oh well... For those of you brave enough to endure the cold, I'd be interested in booking live interviews and/or performances
on Secret Music in the upcoming months. December is spoken for, but after that is
open to offers. I notice that quite a few musicians/bands I play are from
the NYC area. I'm not that far away, and there's Metro North service
available, too. Contact me for more info.
Also, I've been accepting downloads of new music for some time now, but
I wanted to make mention of it. The sound quality may not be the same and I don't get the nice artwork, but it's quick and easy and cheap. For those of you
overseas, or those with limited promotional budgets, it's a good way to go
and saves lots of money on postage. There are all kinds of ways to do it,
too. I've downloaded from FTP sites, links on websites, and now places
like Bandcamp and Soundcloud. If you want to send me an actual CD, I'm
perfectly fine with that. But if downloads work better for you, then
that's dine with me too. Just send me an email and let me know.
Here's my top 20 playlist for November. I'll write again in a couple of
weeks with my best of 2010 lists. Enjoy!
Scott Raymond
