Secret Music News, March 2017

Hi -

February was a good month for me at Secret Music. A cold knocked me out
for one week, but I got to talk to Rick Cutler again, which is always fun. And he
brought his daughter who also performed on his new record. And I also got
to host a performance by the Sonic Skypilots, who played some amazing
improvised music and were great fun to talk to. I love moments like that.

I don't have any other scheduled interviews or performances yet, but I'm
gearing up for my 30th anniversary show on Sunday, June 18. Hard to believe it's been so
long. I'm making plans, and hoping some of you can help. If any of you
would like to contribute new/unreleased music for the event, that would be
wonderful. I had a few such pieces for my 20th anniversary, and it meant a
lot to me. I'd also like to get people in the studio for an interview
and/or performance. If you're interested in helping me with either, let me
know and we'll work things out.

Most of you know me at this point. but there's a few that might not. My
name is Scott Raymond, and for those of you who don't know me, I'm a New
Age/Ambient/Electronic music DJ with WVKR-FM. WVKR is a 3700 watt
non-commercial station broadcasting from Vassar College to the greater
Hudson Valley region. My show, "Secret Music", has been on for over 29
years and has a large and devoted audience. The show airs every Sunday
from 9AM to 12 noon EST. For more information or to listen in online,
check out our website at

I'm always looking for new and interesting music to play. If you have
something you think I'd be interested in, feel free to send it to the address below. I'm perfectly
fine with downloads instead of CD's, especially for all you overseas
people who pay large sums of money to mail things here to the states.
Don't get me wrong. I love CD's and love to see nice packaging. But I know
what it costs to mail such things, too. It's up to you. I usually prefer
high quality MP3's, though I can accept other formats if necessary. Just
send me an email for more info. At least half of what I play these days
comes to me through downloads. Thanks.

  1. Greetings Scott ,

I heard about your fine radio show from Jack Hertz ENCYCLOTRONIC site. My name's Charles Rice Goff III, and I've been recording and performing a wide range of things that some people call "music" since the 1970's. I've been operating the Taped Rugs Productions label since 1980, been a member of a few unusual sonic ensembles, and worked in varous artistic capacities with literally hundreds of people from all over the planet. Actually, Jack's Aural Films label just released an audio "Biography" of my work a couple of months ago.

About 99 percent of my 250 or so recordings are currently available for free downloading and streaming at Here's three albums that might contain elements that would fit into your Secret Music broadcast. I assume that you are familiar with the archive, but if not, you can download the files in various formats from the menu on the right side of these posts:

LOTS MORE HERE (more stuff to fit your Secret Music format, plus all sorts of other genres)

Hope you dig, thanks for the invite, Charles
