Hi -
Here's my playlist for Sunday, June 15, 2014. Today was the 27th
anniversary of Secret Music. It all started a long time ago as a summer gig. Here I am 27 years
later, still playing the music I love. I decided to focus on local artists
this time, to give back to the community that has supported me all these
years. Some have moved elsewhere, others are no longer with us. But they
were all living in the Hudson Valley at the time. This area really does
have a wealth of talent here. I've met most of them over the years, and
they're great people, too. Enjoy!

Upcoming Events

Here's some upcoming events which may be of interest to you.
First, I'll be celebrating the 27th anniversary of Secret Music on Sunday, June 15, 2014. Doesn't seem like it's been that long. I'll have all kinds of fun things to play for you. And if any local musicians want to stop by and say hello, just let me know. I've enjoyed it all these years and I'm grateful to all the people who listen and enjoy it as well.
Now for some concert announcements.
First, local guitarist Alexander Turnquist will be playing at Club Helsinki in Hudson, NY on Sunday, June 15. He's incredibly talented and he's celebrating the release of his new album "Flying Fantasy" which just came out on Western Vinyl Records. For more info, check out the link below. Opening for Alex is another talented musician, Christopher Tignor. Well worth the drive to Hudson.

Next is a concert featuring local guitarist Helen Avakian opening for guitarist Muriel Anderson. They'll be playing at the Hyde Park library in Hyde Park, NY on Tuesday, June 24. Both are very talented and Muriel doesn't come to the area often. For more info, check out the link below.

Also on Tuesday, June 24 is a concert featuring two very talented piano players, Doug Hammer and Michele McLaughlin. They'll be playing in Poughkeepsie, NY at Vincitore's Piano. For more info, check out the link below.

Hi -
My name is Scott Raymond, and for those of you who don't know me, I'm a New
Age/Ambient/Electronic music DJ with WVKR-FM. WVKR is a 3700 watt
non-commercial station broadcasting from Vassar College to the greater
Hudson Valley region. My show, "Secret Music", has been on for over 26
years and has a large and devoted audience. The show airs every Sunday
from 9AM to 12 noon EST. For more information or to listen in online,
check out our website at www.wvkr.org.
I'm always looking for new and interesting music to play. If you have
something you think I'd be interested in, feel free to send it to the address below. I'm perfectly
fine with downloads instead of CD's, especially for all you overseas
people who pay large sums of money to mail things here to the states. I
usually prefer high quality MP3's, though I can accept other formats if
necessary. Just send me an email for more info. At least half of what I
play these days comes to me through downloads. Thanks.
Starting to feel like summer here already. Funny how it went from winter
to summer so quickly. This month I celebrate my 27th anniversary of Secret Music.
Amazing how time flies. So much has changed in just a short period of
time. I've gone from playing cassettes and LP's to getting a lot of the
music I play from downloads. The music itself is as good as ever,
regardless of the format. I've got a ton of good new stuff just waiting
for airplay. Though it's really about the people I've met along the way.
Musicians, record label types and of course the audience. They're what
make it all worthwhile. Thanks for listening.
