Hi -
My name is Scott Raymond, and for those of you who don't know me, I'm a
New Age/Ambient/Electronic music DJ with WVKR-FM. WVKR is a 3700 watt
non-commercial station broadcasting from Vassar College to the greater
Hudson Valley region. My show, "Secret Music", has been on for over 25
years and has a large and devoted audience. The show airs every Sunday
from 9AM to 12 noon EST. For more information or to listen in online,
check out our website at www.wvkr.org.
I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting music to play on my
show. If you have something you think I'd be interested in, feel free to send it to the
address below or email me for more info. If you're a local musician or
just passing through the beautiful Hudson Valley region and you'd like to
stop by for a live interview and/or performance, drop me a line and we'll
work something out. Also, if you'd like to send me downloads of your
releases in lieu of actual CD's, that's fine with me, too. Just send me an
email and let me know. Thanks.
It's cold here in New York, and I'm doing my best to keep warm. I'm
surprised at the amount of new music I've been getting, though. Usually this time of year is
quiet. Not this time. I'm always happy to see something new and
interesting show up in my mailbox or email. With the increase in postage
rates, it's not as easy for artists to mail CD's. I'm perfectly happy with
downloaded promos. Somewhere around half the albums I play these days come
to me this way. Just let me know.
There's a new service out called DAR.fm. which allows you to record
radio shows (like mine). The website has more info. but it's basically a free service much
like a Tivo, which allows you to select and record radio shows for future
listening. Finally something for those of you who aren't around to listen
in on a Sunday morning.

Hi -
Here's my playlist for Sunday, February 3, 2013. Lots of great new music
this month. Foremost among the new releases are newly released albums of older
material from Vidna Obmana, and a bunch of new stuff from the Groove
Unlimited label. Good to hear new music from both sources. Also, I
realized recently that I hadn't played any of Zero Ohms' older music in a

a reissue of his first cassette from 20 years ago. Sounds pretty good. And
some older music of Ron Boots, as my way of saying thanks for giving me

Secret Music Playlist, January 20, 2013
Hi -
Here's my playlist for Sunday, January 20, 2013. Again, older music is
what catches my attention. I picked up a couple of Tangerine Dream CD boxed sets cheap, so
I've got plenty of catching up to do on vintage TD. I also pulled out an
old Chuck Van Zyl album that I digitized and played that. Just got his new
album, "Cenotaph", and I love it. Between those and the Groove Unlimited
releases I've been catching up on, I've been on a serious Berlin School
kick lately. Though I did find room to play some of my favorite older
piano pieces from Keith Emerson, Keith Jarrett and Robert Rich, too.

Secret Music Playlist, January 13, 2013
Hi -
Here's my playlist for Sunday, January 13, 2013. Plenty of good new
things to play, including some killer Berlin-School type electronics from Majeure.
But it's the older music that takes center stage today. Played an older Tangent Project
album that I didn't have until recently, along with a track from the
forgotten compilation Beyond Me, a collection of musicians from the Beyond
EM email list. I also played some old Tangerine Dream. My TD collection on
CD was pretty woeful until I scored a couple of boxed sets of the Virgin
Years, giving me plenty to catch up on. And some music from Usr/Sbin, who
is really Dennis Moser, an ambient guitarist. He's been on my show before,
and has been a supporter for years. He's now in Alaska, where the days are
about 4 hours long right now. Hope he's keeping warm. Thanks and enjoy!
